Before you enrol

Do I need prior experience?
Yes. This level assumes familiarity with WordPress and basic PHP, and that you've applied simple optimisations before. If you're a beginner, start with Basic or Professional.
Will I learn specific operating systems?
Yes. The exercises are on Ubuntu/Debian (the most common), but the concepts apply to any Linux server. We don't cover Windows Server.
Will I write code myself?
Yes. You'll write a complete optimisation plugin in PHP from scratch, modify theme templates, and tune system settings from the command line.
How is this different from DevOps courses?
DevOps courses are generic. This course is WordPress-specific — it takes you from the infrastructure to WordPress as a system, and how the two behave together under real traffic.
